New President of La Chorrera Fair Board Predicts Success for 2026 Event

The new president of the La Chorrera Fair board acknowledges the tight schedule for the 2026 event but promises transparency and foresees success. Despite the short timeframe, work is already underway to prepare for the fair.

Despite the short preparation period, the new president of the board of trustees predicted that the 2026 event will be a "resounding success." The new board of trustees of the La Chorrera Fair has less than two months to organize the 2026 fair event, which must be inaugurated, according to the official fair calendar released by the Ministry of Agricultural Development, on January 21. The National Fair Commission (CONAFER) revealed at the beginning of December the list of new trustees and the board of directors after a selection process that began this October. Cristóbal Fu Guerrero, elected as the new president of the board of trustees, admitted that it is a "tough task." He also said that through a website, all financial information before and after the event will be made public, which must begin on January 21 and end on February 1. There are 13 organizations from the government sector, cultural and agricultural groups, and government institutions that make up the board of trustees. "We are really against the clock," reiterated Cristóbal Fu, also a lawyer, indicating that work is already underway on the formation of the working commissions, which must materialize and energize the event.
